Art Deco plant stand / pedestal – solid wood – interwar period ca. 1920–1935
Description:
Authentic Art Deco plant stand from the interwar period, circa 1920–1935. The piece is crafted in solid wood and shows a clear transitional style between Arts & Crafts and Art Deco, with an emphasis on visible construction, artisanal joints, and clean geometry.
The design is characterized by:
Tapered legs, open construction, visible joints, a subtle arched cutout beneath the top, and a layered edge finish on the top.
These elements are characteristic of early modernist furniture design from the interwar period, in which functionality, construction, and material expression were central.
Material:
Solid wood (probably oak or oak-like hardwood)
Country:
Good authentic vintage condition, with normal signs of wear and patina appropriate to age and use. No structural defects. The surface shows natural aging, which contributes to the historic appearance.
Suitable for both traditional and modern interiors
Beautiful proportions and lightweight construction
This type of furniture falls within the functional Art Deco movement, in which decoration was subordinated to construction and the use of materials.
The subtle arched cut-out beneath the leaf is a typical transitional element between Arts & Crafts (organic forms) and Art Deco (geometric structure).
The little table will be carefully packaged and shipped insured with tracking!
