Matomba figure from the Teke tribe of DR Congo. The figures carved by Teke are characterized by slightly bent legs, a columnar torso framed by arms bent a right angles and an enlarged head with typical linear facial scarification's and a trapezoidal beard. Their height varies from between 15 and 80 cm and these figures can be used either for an individual or for the entire community.
Good condition with slight traces of wear and tear.
Provenance: Manfred Schäfer, former gallery owner from Ulm, Germany.
Shipping within 24 hours after the payment is received. Tracking number will be provided. Signature upon delivery. Fully insured.
