Antique Asian bronze elephant – ca. 1900–1950 – ceremonial decoration
Rare and finely executed bronze elephant, originating from Asia (probably India or Southeast Asia), manufactured in the first half of the 20th century.
The statue is hollow-cast, indicating traditional artisanal casting. The elephant is richly decorated with geometric patterns and band motifs on the back, inspired by ceremonial or temple elephants. The raised trunk symbolizes luck and prosperity.
The natural, deep brown patina with greenish oxidation has formed over time and enhances the character and authenticity of the object.
