This refined nineteenth-century temple-style monstrance is an important testament to sacred art, characterized by a silvered architectural framework and gilded brass. The piece rises on a circular, richly chased base with phytomorphic motifs, connected by a central-knob stem to the display cabinet, where four slender columns enclose the original lunette decorated with a seraph with wings outstretched. The object's beauty is enhanced by a double row of settings with multicolored stones in glass paste that ornament the frieze and the dome, the latter topped by a finely modeled, fully round statuette. The natural dark patina elegantly alternates with the gilded areas, giving the piece a visually authentic charm characteristic of the period.
