Nikon Nikkor 28mm f/3.5 AI wide‑angle manual focus lens in good physical condition, tested and working, dating from the 1980s, with a 52mm filter size and original front and rear caps (serial no. 215340).
Description from the seller
for sale Nikkor 28mm f/3.5 AI lens, a compact manual-focus wide-angle lens appreciated for its sharpness and resistance to flare. the serial number 215340 visible on the barrel identifies this specimen as an AI version produced roughly between 1977 and 1981 (serial range ~1760201 - 21xxxx).
it differs from the previous version (pre-ai) by the aperture ring which features the double scale of values (the small one for direct reading in the ADR viewfinder) and the absence of the solid fork, here replaced by the perforated fork typical of AI lenses. The rear bayonet is of the AI (Automatic Indexing) original type, compatible with almost all Nikon SLRs, from vintage FM/FE to high-end digital DSLRs and mirrorless cameras via an adapter. Unlike the subsequent AI-S version, the minimum aperture value f/22 on the ring is not colored orange and the focusing throw is slightly longer, offering greater precision. The optic is composed of 6 elements in 6 groups and accepts 52mm filters. Included lens with both original caps as shown in the images.
