The 600 Extreme stands out for its simplicity as a “point-and-shoot”: a 116mm plastic fixed-focus lens (f/11) (zone focus), but equipped with a sliding integrated close-up (“macro”) lens that allows close focusing from 0.6m to 1.2m, ideal for portraits. Exposure is automatic, managed by a light sensor, with the option of compensation via the classic darken/lighten slider. The built-in electronic flash is smart and activates automatically when needed, but the dual shutter-release button lets you force its use or disable it.
