Brass bronze and alloy brutalist wall mirror from Spain, circa 1930–1940, in good used condition with signs of age.
Description from the seller
Impressive decorative mirror in Brutalist style, made of worked iron and gold finish, with a design of strong sculptural character. The piece stands out for its frame composed of metal sheets arranged radially, evoking an abstract sun effect and contributing a highly pronounced architectural presence.
Aged golden finish, although it originally had a silver over black finish, typical of these mirrors, as can be seen on the back of the mirror. The visible textures, the small irregularities of the metal, and the handmade workmanship of the frame add authenticity and visual depth to this Brutalist piece from the mid-20th century.
The central oval mirror contrasts with the solid frame, balancing the whole and turning it into a decorative object as functional as it is artistic. Its design makes it ideal as a centerpiece in interiors with mid-century, brutalist, industrial, or contemporary styles, as well as in interior design projects with a strong personality.
In terms of typology, materials and design, the mirror can be dated to circa 1950–1960, in line with the European production of brutalist wrought-iron mirrors of the period, highly valued today by collectors and decorators.
The back retains its original structure, with a mounting system for hanging on the wall.
The condition is good, with signs of use and wear appropriate to its age, which do not affect its functionality and add character to the piece (see detailed photographs).
