Description from the seller
Art Deco Sterling Silver Tea & Coffee Service (4-piece) – Walker & Hall, Sheffield 1939
First of all: I bought the parts in 2010 in England; I am attaching the original receipt. All parts were kept dry in the basement, I only cleaned them superficially with a silver cloth. The only noticeable defect is a small dent in the tall kettle, see photo.
Description
An exceptionally elegant and rare four-piece service made of solid sterling silver, perfectly embodying the strict and at the same time luxurious spirit of Art Deco. This set was manufactured in 1939 by the famous silversmith Walker & Hall in Sheffield, England.
The set is striking for its bold, geometric design with stepped bodies and the distinctive, angular handles made of dark Bakelite (I think) that create a wonderful contrast to the highly polished silver.
The set includes:
Large coffee pot / hot water kettle: sleek, tall form.
Teapot: classic, more bulbous shape.
Sugar bowl: open form with geometric handles.
Milk pourer: A suitable design with a precise spout.
Details & Identification:
Material: Solid sterling silver (925)
