The modular design of Beosystem 5500 provides complete flexibility in where you place the various units. Stack them, arrange them side by side, or spread them around the room.
This Beosystem 5500 consists of the following separate units:

Beomaster 5500
The brain of the system. Connected via Datalink to the tape recorder and CD player, the entire system can be operated remotely via the Master Control Panel.
Tuner 2 x 60 watts/8 ohms tuner/amplifier with high-fidelity quality. The Automatic Power Handling Control system from Bang & Olufsen prevents overload and distortion. Up to 20 stations can be preset on the tuner, providing automatic searching and fine-tuning of stations. Excellent reception of LW, MW and FM bands, and impressive ease of use.

Beogram CD5500
Built-in circuitry in the player that compensates for the smallest errors on the disc itself. Locating tracks and track numbers in the Master Control Panel. Tracks can be programmed for playback in random order, or for sampling. Light display showing the length of the playing track and the remaining time.

Beocord 5500
Advanced tape recorder, professional standard,
Auto Reverse: play or record both sides of a cassette as one continuous tape.
Automatic adjustment of the sound level prevents volume fluctuations from one recording to another.
The HX-Pro recording system from B&O, with higher sound quality at the higher frequencies, for a richer, more detailed sound.
The Beocord 5500 automatically adapts to standard, chrome, or metal tapes. There is the option between Dolby B or C during recording. During playback the recorder automatically switches to the noise reduction system. Automatic track search.


Master Control Panel MCP 5500 – provides access to the entire Beosystem 5500.
With infrared two-way communication system.
All elements in the Beosystem 5500 are connected by the Bang & Olufsen data link. A connected collective that communicates with the Master Control Panel.
