South African traditional Zulu shields date back to King Shaka Zulu and have been used by tribes in combat for hundreds of years. The modern world has evolved, as have the Zulu tribes. These shields are no longer used in battle but are instead used for traditional Zulu ceremonies such as weddings, to tell ancestral historical stories. These bold black and white carved wooden motifs continue to have a striking modern shape displayed in groups. Each may vary slightly due to unique handcrafted carvings. Comes with a hook attached to the back for wall hanging.
