Dümler & Breiden - Table lamp - Stoneware - West German Pottery

This original mid‑century ceramic lamp comes from Dümler & Breiden, one of the defining manufacturers of the West German Pottery era. The form, glaze, and décor are typical of designs from the late 1960s to early 1970s and exemplify Dümler & Breiden’s powerful, sculptural design language. The green-glazed ceramic base with a relief surface is intricately patterned and very decorative with the green glaze. The lamp has no base stamp, but in a broad sense (probably a precursor) it belonged to the well-known Studio 71 line of the manufacturer, under which vases and lamps with the same relief were marketed in bright orange- and green-tones.

The lampshade is not original, but new and was covered with a sturdy original cotton decorative fabric from Scotland. The woven pattern gives the lamp a calm, graphic look and, in combination with the ceramic base, creates a cohesive impression. The fabric is sturdy and provides a pleasant, warm light.

The newer fabric cord and the newer socket were already installed when the lamp was purchased. The lamp has been tested by us to ensure it functions. Due to its status as a vintage light, the sale is made without warranty or liability for the electrical components. The lamp has an E27 socket made of black Bakelite, rated for up to 250 volts.
