This exceptional antique crystal sugar caster originates from Vienna and dates back to 1835, representing a refined example of Biedermeier-period craftsmanship.
The finely cut crystal body was produced by the First Viennese Glass Factory, founded in 1823 by Josef Lobmeyr (1792–1855), which later became the official supplier to the Habsburg Imperial Court. This historical connection significantly enhances the collectible value of the piece.
The silver-mounted lid is made of 13-lot Viennese silver (approx. 812 fineness), also dated to 1835. Although the silversmith and the aristocratic family monogram engraved on the lid have not yet been identified, these marks indicate noble provenance and high-quality commission wor
