Rug - 185 cm - 127 cm - Russian Shirvan rug

Shirvan rug from the 1970s, measures 185 cm x 127 cm (2.35 sq m), professionally cleaned, in overall good condition as shown in the photo. It is entirely hand-knotted, wool pile on a cotton warp, Caucasian origin (primarily modern-day Azerbaijan), with geometric motifs and probably dyed with natural pigments. The original provenance certificate and warranty will be shipped together with the rug.
These rugs have a long tradition, and the pieces from the 1970s retain many of the traditional characteristics.
