Description from the seller
The 2000 Parusso Armando Barolo Riserva Mariondino DOCG is a mature Italian red wine from Azienda Agricola Parusso, crafted from 100 % Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Mariondino cru in Castiglione Falletto, part of the famous Barolo appellation in Piedmont. Parusso’s Barolo wines — including the Mariondino cru — focus on expressing the unique terroir of limestone‑rich clay and sandy soils through traditional hand harvesting and careful vinification with indigenous yeasts.
After a long maceration and extended aging in small oak barrels followed by bottle maturation, the 2000 vintage has developed a deep garnet colour and complex aromatic profile, where tertiary notes of dried red fruit, spice, tobacco, leather, and earthy undertones blend with subtle sweet herb and mineral hints.
On the palate this Riserva displays structured tannins softened by age, balanced acidity, and a long, elegant finish — ideal with rich game, roasted meats, truffles, and aged cheese.
Parusso’s Mariondino Barolo Riserva showcases the estate’s commitment to terroir‑driven Barolo that rewards cellaring and reveals layered complexity over decades.
