Maurice C. P. Verstuyf (born in Etterbeek in 1949) graduated in the Department of Graphic Arts within the Plastic Arts at the Higher Saint Luke Institute in Schaerbeek (Brussels) in 1971.
Maurice C. P. Verstuyf, also known as Stef Verstuyf, was until 2014 a senior art director and creative director at several international advertising agencies and started his collection of tribal art in the early 1970s. This collection consists of masks and figures (not weapons), mainly from the Congo (DRC) and also from Gabon, Angola, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Burkina Faso, Liberia, Cameroon, and Nigeria.
