Description from the seller
Description:
Antique oak bookcase in Renaissance style (neorenaissance), manufactured circa 1890–1910 in the Netherlands. The bookcase is entirely made of solid oak and equipped with original inlaid closures with ring pulls and five original solid shelves (including the bottom shelf).
Condition & details:
The cabinet is in good antique condition with normal signs of use and aging appropriate for a piece of furniture of this age. The construction is stable and the doors close well.
Too bad:
The back panel consists of two large panels; one panel is cracked and a portion of it is missing (see photos).
Restorations:
A cover strip is glued to the front of the door (old repair).
Additional information
The glass is completely intact. There is no active woodworm. On the inside there are original pencil workshop markings, including the part designation 'side plinth' on the left and right.
The cabinet comes from a family-owned background and has been in the family for at least three generations.
Transport:
The cabinet can be easily disassembled into the following parts: top rail, doors, side panels, back panels, bottom. For transport (from Leidschendam-Voorburg, Netherlands) it is handy to bring a few moving blankets. The largest loose components are 175x45x1x20 cm (top rail and bottom) and 100x75x1 cm (back panel).
In consultation I can construct a frame for transport by a carrier. You will then have to arrange the carrier yourself (dimensions of the transport frame are approximately 180x60x80 (LxWxH)).
