Lot of 35 Antique Glass Lantern Slides – Art & Architecture – c. 1890–1930
Set of 35 original antique glass lantern slides, dating from the late 19th – early 20th century, used for educational projection with magic lanterns.
The slides depict art, architecture, sculpture, religious and historical subjects, many with original printed or handwritten labels.
Publishers include German and Austrian educational houses (e.g. Stuttgart, Vienna).
Mounted in original cardboard frames.
Condition:
The condition is not perfect, consistent with age and historical use.
Approximately 5 slides have cracked glass, and others show various defects, such as edge wear, surface marks, patina, minor damage to mounts and general signs of aging.
