Alternative (a bit more classic)

19th-century Curule Armchair in Neo-Renaissance Style – Solid Oak with Original Leather Seat

Description

Very beautiful and authentic curule armchair (X-frame armchair) from the late 19th century, made of solid oak with an original, very thick saddle leather seat.

The armchair is richly carved in Neo-Renaissance style, with deeply detailed ornamentation and a central heraldic cartouche with a crown on the backrest. It is a fixed model (not foldable), intended as a representative armchair.

The leather is in exceptionally good condition for this type of furniture: thick, supple and sturdy, with only a few small signs of wear and light stains appropriate for its age. The hand stitching is completely intact and original. A small scuff and a missing nail.

The construction is solid and stable. The wood displays a beautiful, honest patina and shows no cracks or restorations. The armchair is in very good, original condition.
