Description
Natural ostrich egg (Struthio camelus), mounted in an opening decorative case, presented in the spirit of a cabinet of curiosities.
The natural shell is decorated with gold-toned trim and metallic elements, with an applied geometric pattern. The piece rests on a matching pedestal.
The interior is lined with dark fabric.
A handwritten inscription visible “Gourdon – C” is present at the base of the egg. Its origin and meaning are not documented.
State:
The hinge is damaged: it holds but remains very fragile. The opening must be handled with care.
