Classic two‑seater sofa in Empire / Louis XVI style – restored – theatrical provenance – French design

Elegant two‑seater sofa with a solid carved wooden frame and striped textile upholstery in warm orange tones with a dotted pattern. A refined example of French Empire / Louis XVI style furniture, featuring a high backrest, curved arms with pleated rosettes, and turned front legs. A decorative and collectible piece with strong visual presence.

Restored approximately 8 years ago: the internal springs were replaced and the upholstery was renewed, respecting the original historical style. Since then, it has been used only as a decorative element in a private home.

Condition details:
– Small visible stain on the fabric (see photos)
– Rear backing panel has come loose and needs to be fixed with nails

Overall, the piece remains solid, stable and visually striking.

Provenance
From the private collection of a scenographer linked to the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. Used as part of theatrical set decoration. Acquired in Spain around 2012–2014. Estimated origin: France.
