Description from the seller

Set of two Turkish Melas rugs, bed runner – 1950s–1960s

We present an original set of two Melas Turkish rugs, authentic traditional pieces from Anatolia, handwoven in the mid-20th century, roughly 1950–1960.

These carpets belong to the classical Melas pattern, recognizable by its balanced geometric composition, its well-defined central field, and the harmony of soft, warm colors characteristic of this region in the southwest of Turkey.

Both pieces have been completely handwoven, using 100% natural wool in both the warp and the weft, which gives them strength, a pleasant texture, and excellent durability over time.

• Origin: Melas, Turkey
• Period: 1950–1960
• Technique: Handmade
Material: 100% natural wool
• Dimensions (each): approx. 140 × 82 cm
• Condition: Very good overall condition, with minimal wear consistent with its age. Original fringes present. Colors well preserved.

Ideal as bed runners, to place in pairs on either side of a bed, in a narrow hallway, or as decorative pieces with vintage and authentic character.

A set that is hard to find as a pair and in such good condition, perfect for collectors or lovers of traditional Oriental carpets.
