Description from the seller
The Pioneer PL-1200A, released in 1974 during the "Gold Era" of Japanese high-fidelity audio equipment, is a beautifully crafted direct-drive turntable that combines stunning aesthetics with exceptional sound quality.
Given its 50 years of age, the near-perfect aesthetic condition is a rare find, showcasing the exceptional care and respect this turntable has received throughout its life. This is a truly remarkable piece for any collector or audiophile seeking both form and function.
Additionally, the PL-1200A comes with a brand-new clear dust lid, a Pioneer head shell, a Shure M75 cartridge, stylus and 45 adapter. The speed control board and power supply board has been upgraded with new Japanese made electrolytic capacitors to ensure continued speed stability and longevity, an essential upgrade for a turntable of this age, an upgrade made by the former professional owner.
All switches and potentiometers have been professionally cleaned, and the transformer has been carefully removed from the chassis and mounted on the timber plinth for improved sound quality and isolation, an upgrade made by the former professional owner.
The turntable uses a strobe for rotational speed feedback and employs an advanced feedback control system via an electronic circuit with transistors and diodes, ensuring constant revolutions regardless of temperature or voltage fluctuations.
Both the 33 and 45 RPM settings work perfectly, with platter rotation operating as smoothly as you'd expect from a high-quality vintage Japanese product built to last a lifetime.
This is a Japanese model and is 100v. A voltage converter for European use is provided in the price.
This will be professionally packed with a suitable amount of packing material to ensure safe delivery.
