Vintage side/coffee table by Marc Berthier, France, dating to the 1960s–1970s, with a blue translucent pleksiglas top on chrome metal legs; dimensions 41 cm high, 38 cm wide, 32 cm deep, in good used condition.

Side table / nightstand / auxiliary table on chrome-plated metal legs with a blue semi-transparent plexiglass top. Space Age, designed by Marc Berthier, France, 1970s.
The iconic coffee table, a side table from the Cosmic Era by Marc Berthier.
Original item, preserved in good condition; the tabletop has no deep scratches, the plexiglass shows normal signs of use appropriate for its age, with no cracks.
The chrome surface of the metal base is in good vintage condition, with scratches and patina. The table is very handy, light, and versatile.

About the designer:
Marc Berthier (1935-2022) France.
Marc Berthier studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, and he worked for several firms involved in industrial design, including Mobel and Airborne.
In 1967, together with Pauline Deltour and Gérard Mialet, he founded the design studio ELA (Études et Liaisons avec l’Industrie).
The creator designed a wide range of products, from office accessories to cars. The best-known works are: the Tykho watches and the mobile phone "Le Portable", which earned prestigious design awards. For several years he also taught industrial design at the École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle in Paris. He has won numerous awards and distinctions, including the Gold Medal of the Académie d’Architecture in 2010 and the Prix du design industriel de la Ville de Paris in 2012.
His career included collaboration with such companies as Magis Italy, Knoll USA, Thonet, Toto in Japan, Roche Bobois, Lexon, DF-2000, Ligne Roset Cinna, Hermès, Cacharel, and Galeries Lafayette.
His works are in the collections of many museums, including MoMA in New York and the Centre Pompidou and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. He has won numerous awards: the Grand Prix National de la Création Industrielle, the Compasso d'Oro (twice!), and the American Design Award.
