William Morris (Walthamstow, March 24, 1834 – London, October 3, 1896) was a British artist and writer.

Strawberry Thief reproduces one of William Morris's most recognizable designs and, in our opinion, is also the most iconic work in the Arts and Crafts style. It was originally created as a tapestry after Morris observed birds stealing strawberries from the garden of his home in Gloucestershire, Kelmscott Manor.

Morris was one of the main founders of the Arts and Crafts movement; he is considered a pioneer of modern designers and had a significant influence on architecture and architects of his time.

He is considered by many to be the father of the Modern Movement, although he was not an architect himself.
He founded a design studio in collaboration with the artist Edward Burne-Jones and the poet and artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti, who profoundly influenced the decoration of churches and homes in the twentieth century.
He also made an important contribution to the revitalization of traditional textile arts and the associated production methods.
