Description from the seller
Early 20th Century Gentleman’s Walking Stick with Crook Handle and Silver-Plated Collar, Hardwood Shaft, c.1900–1930
Elegant early 20th-century gentleman’s walking stick featuring a classic crook (J-shaped) handle, traditionally formed from bent and polished hardwood. This timeless city cane design was widely used in the Edwardian period and remained popular into the interwar years.
The stick is fitted with a silver-plated collar providing both decoration and reinforcement between the handle and shaft, as well as a metal ferrule at the base for durability. The wood shows attractive natural grain and warm patina developed over decades of use.
Such walking sticks were everyday accessories for gentlemen, suitable for formal city wear as well as light countryside walking. Today they are sought after as decorative interior pieces and as part of collections of
historical walking sticks.
A classic and elegant antique walking stick with strong decorative appeal and good display presence.
Good antique condition consistent with age and use. Surface wear, small scratches and areas of finish loss to the wooden shaft, especially toward the lower section. Collar shows wear and small marks. Ferrule shows wear from use. Structurally sound and suitable for display or light use. Please refer to the photos for full condition details.
