Description from the seller
Antique SFBJ doll – porcelain head – Communion outfit with rosary – Early 20th century [22 Sfbj 60 Paris 1]
I gave him the name Madeleine.
Very beautiful antique doll from the house SFBJ (Société Française de Fabrication de Bébés et Jouets), dating from the early 20th century, with a head of fine porcelain featuring delicate features and a lovely gentle expression.
Madeleine is shown in an old-fashioned communion outfit:
A dress in light fabric, finely adorned with lace and blue ribbons, with an antique matching bonnet; the shoes and socks are newer but still coherent with the style.
She wears an ancient rosary, a religious and very delicate accessory that enhances her charm and authenticity. Her eyes are fixed.
State
• Porcelain head that has undergone an old, carefully executed restoration.
• Presence of 2 repaired cracks at the back of the head and 1 repaired crack at the front
• These cracks are very discreet and almost invisible to the naked eye, visible only under careful examination
• Well-preserved face, with a beautiful patina, without obvious chips
• Body and clothing in generally good condition for a doll of this age (see photos)
Dimensions
Height: approximately 45 cm
Remarks
A charming doll, ideal for a collector, an enthusiast of antique French dolls, or for display in a shop window.
The restorations have been taken into account in the estimate and are clearly mentioned in the interest of transparency, in accordance with Catawiki's rules.
The photos are an integral part of the description.
