Description from the seller

Pair of large multi-arm candelabras in gilt bronze – Luigi XIV revival style / Napoleon III period – second half of the 19th century

Main description
Refined pair of gilded bronze table candelabra, richly decorated, characterized by a slender and monumental form, with a pierced base on scroll feet, a central shaft adorned with cartouches and heraldic escutcheons, and gracefully curved arms terminating in candle holders.
The ensemble features a decorative language fully attributable to the Louis XIV revival/Napoleon III period, with abundant use of volutes, rocaille motifs, and cartouches, typical of French and Franco-Italian production between the late 18th and 19th centuries.
The gilding, now partially faded by time, still preserves a clear detailing and gives the candelabras a warm, authentic patina, highly valued in the collecting and decorative spheres.
Objects with a strong visual impact, ideal for classical interiors, boiserie, consoles, or large tables, but also ready to be reinterpreted in eclectic contexts.

Technical specifications
Subject: Pair of candelabras
Material: Golden bronze
Number of arms: 5 lights per candelabrum (4 on the sides + 1 in the center)
Decoration: volutes, rocaille motifs, cartouches and heraldic escutcheons.
Base: shaped and pierced, on undulating feet
Technique: Casting and chasing
Era: second half of the 19th century
Dimensions: Base 14x10 cm; Maximum width 24x24 cm; Height 48.6 cm

Conditions
Good overall condition relative to age.
Normal wear to the gilding, small scratches and signs of age consistent with antique gilded bronze objects. Structurally solid and stable, with no obvious breaks; both candelabras are not perfectly aligned, as is evident from the photographs that are an integral part of the description. Not restored, with original patina.

Stylistic note
Candelabra of this kind were often made in the 19th century as a cultured revival of the 18th-century taste, intended for prestigious interiors. The quality of the casting, the complexity of the pierced base, and the richness of the decorative details make this pair particularly interesting from a decorative and collectible standpoint.
