Antique wooden sideboard dating to 1930–1940, Italian origin, with a width of 280 cm, height of 105 cm, and depth of 66 cm, in a historic Antico style and lockable feature.
Description from the seller
An elegant and imposing sideboard (low credenza) of excellent quality, dating from the second half of the 19th century. The piece stands out for its generous dimensions and the richness of its carvings, typical of the eclectic Neo-Renaissance taste.
Main features
Facade: divided into three bays with hinged doors decorated by large central rosettes carved in high relief. The doors are separated by pilasters with geometric rustication motifs.
Ornamental Details: an underplate decorated with a dentil cornice and a base enriched by a beaded band that runs along the entire perimeter.
Supports: The furniture rests on sturdy and dramatic carved lion's-paw feet, which give the piece stability and character.
Structure: The top is broad and features a beautiful natural grain. The interior is spacious, equipped with original shelves lined with period paper.
Condition
The piece of furniture is structurally solid and retains all of its original charm. However, as shown in the detailed photos, it bears signs of age that attest to its authenticity:
Presence of old woodworm holes (treatment recommended as a preventive measure).
Some missing pieces and chips in the frames and in the top molding.
The back panel and some internal joints require light consolidation or conservative restoration to bring the furniture back to its full splendor.
Missing some lock keyways; keys present/absent (verify by batch/lot).
A perfect piece for furnishing prestigious salons, professional studios, or to be used as a scenographic counter in a loft or in an upscale commercial establishment.
NOTE: Locks present with 2 keys but not functioning, to be serviced at the buyer's expense.
