Set of 2 original antique Art Nouveau tiles made by: Norddeutsche Steingutfabrik, Grohn, Germany. The tiles were made around 1900. The decoration of leaf motifs is in relief applied by means of the dust-press technique, whereby clay powder is pressed under high pressure into a mold. The back of the tile is unmarked. The condition is fair, with a larger corner damage on 1 tile, and some discoloration in the glaze.

I have been trading antique tiles for almost 20 years. I sell medieval lead glazed floor tiles. Italian, Spanish and Portuguese tiles from the fourteenth to the eighteenth century. Dutch tiles from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, as well as tiles from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco period. I sell at special tile fairs in Germany and England, through Catawiki and eBay and through my website.
