Description from the seller
Vintage living room set – English-style mahogany side table / wine table – mid-century, circa 1955–1970 - Hand-blown carafe with brown-gold decor & 5 sculpted glasses - green bonbonnière
Atmospheric and characterful vintage living-room set comprising an English mahogany side table with a double tier, a hand-blown glass carafe with elegant brown- and gold-toned decoration, five matching sculpted glasses, and a green pressed-glass bonbonnière.
Characteristics typical of English side tables / wine tables:
- Round top with a second tier (two-tier design) - unobtrusive notch
- Twisted, slender legs
- Curved tripod stand
- Dark mahogany wood
This type became popular in England as an “occasional table” or “wine table” in the late 19th century and was later widely copied in Europe.
The carafe displays subtle air bubbles in the glass, a charming hallmark of artisanal craftsmanship from the mid-20th century. The warm gold accents reflect the light beautifully and give the set a luxurious, classic look.
The glasses have a smooth foot and a sculpted bowl, characteristic of Belgian liqueur sets from the 1950s–1970s.
The wooden side table with turned legs and two tiers makes an elegant display for a whisky, sherry, or liqueur corner.
This type became popular in England as an 'occasional table' or 'wine table' in the late 19th century.
It will be securely packaged and insured during shipment.
