Large, elegant jardinière or table centerpiece from the period circa 1890–1920, made of high-quality silver-plated metal (ARGENTOR). The piece impresses with its elaborate design and representative form and probably originates from the German-speaking region or Austria.
The style is to be attributed to late Neoclassicism with Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) influences. Typical features are the symmetrical form, floral garlands, laurel wreath motifs, a central medallion, and the decorative, curved handles. The surrounding pierced work at the edge and the richly decorated foot emphasize the object's high-quality character.
