AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Desk model Fokker F27 Friendship. On an original base/stand. Entirely metal. Maximum height incl. base: 24 cm. Maximum width: 40 cm. Maximum length: 31 cm. Base height: 15 cm. A fine specimen. Very small signs of wear on the wings and tail ends. Not stamped. Weight a little over 1000 g. Model around 1960.

The real F27s, from delivery onwards starting in 1960, were equipped with these 'Day-Glo' orange patches on the white fuselage spine and tail for better visibility.
The metal models were made on behalf of Fokker by the firm Matthijs Verkuyl. They served as corporate gifts for high-ranking military officers.
Because the air force used these colors until the introduction of the camouflage scheme in 1971, the desk models with the orange roof were produced mainly in the 1960s.
