Parisite and Emerald Crystal on matrix - Height: 20 mm - Width: 16 mm- 5 g - (1)

This specimen represents one of the most sophisticated and sought-after associations in Colombian mineralogy: the coexistence of Parisita-(Ce) and Emerald on a white calcite matrix. In this case, because it originates from Colombia, it adds extra appeal as a Type Locality; Parisite was discovered in the 1820s by J.J. Paris in Colombia, and there too its name originates.
La Parisita-(Ce), a scarce rare-earth carbonate, occurs in crystals with a distinctive honey-cinnamon color and a vitreous to adamantine luster; in direct contrast, emeralds emerge with a vibrant green saturation.
The crystals of parisite and emerald rest on a white calcite matrix, whose color purity and rhombohedral structure enhance the aesthetic value of the associated minerals.
