The obverse shows the famous Winged Victory (Angel of Independence) with the Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes in the background, together with the inscriptions “1 Ounce” and “Pure Silver”.
The reverse side shows the classic Mexican coat of arms (eagle with a serpent), surrounded by 'Estados Unidos Mexicanos'.
