The handles are typically simply silver-plated, dating from an era around the middle of the 20th century, more precisely the 1960s–1970s.
They feature a decorative design, often described as Rococo or Louis XV, with floral motifs and scrolls, vintage or antique with elaborate floral decorations.
Some knives bear a symbol inscribed 'Solinger'—the city known as the City of Blades, which hosts numerous manufacturers; a renowned symbol of guarantee and quality.
