Brookite on quartz matrix from Nausherwani mine, Char Kohan, Kharan District, Balochistan, Pakistan; a single tabular brookite crystal with amber-copper tone, 66 mm high, 64 mm wide, 42 mm deep, 154 g, with chlorite inclusions in the quartz.
Description from the seller
This piece is a magnificent display-case specimen that combines aesthetics and mineralogical complexity. Brookite on Quartz with Chlorite Inclusions from the Nausherwani Mine, Kharan District, Balochistan, Pakistan. It stands out for its extraordinary visual balance and chromatic contrast. The centerpiece is a brookite crystal with a tabular habit and impeccable vertical development, displaying a deep amber-copper hue with transparency above the average for this species.
Morphology and Crystallography: The brookite crystal exhibits striated side faces with exquisite definition and a clean, damage-free termination.
Association and Matrix: It rests on a matrix of clear quartz crystals arranged in a divergent architecture. The quartz crystals show chlorite inclusions (and fine needles of what visually is identified as actinolite/bisolite), which contribute an internal texture and a moss-green background that makes the metallic luster of brookite stand out.
Habit: The arrangement of the main crystal, 'floating' between the faces of the quartz crystals, offers a highly appreciated three-dimensionality.
