Set of 6 antique dining chairs in Neo-Renaissance / Henri II style
This lot comprises a beautiful, matching set of six antique dining chairs, crafted in the French Henri II style, also known as Neo-Renaissance.
The chairs date from the late 19th century.
The chairs are handcrafted from solid oak, which exhibits a natural aged patina. The woodwork is richly detailed with architectural motifs, including turned columns and baluster-shaped rails beneath the seat.
The high backrests are equipped with fine carving and a decorative crest at the top.
The roomy seats and partly the backrests are upholstered with an elegant, light-green or beige damask-like fabric, finished with decorative nails along the edges.
The set is structurally stable and solid, with excellent wood joints and craftsmanship.
