Buchara-Design – hand-knotted Oriental rug (runner)

This hand-knotted Oriental rug is executed in the classic Bukhara design and features the strictly geometric motifs typical of this tradition. The narrow, elongated format emphasizes the clean structure of the pattern and makes the rug particularly suitable for hallways or narrow spaces.

The field is rendered in a deep red and is dominated by a vertical row of regularly arranged octagonal Gül medallions. These medallions are evenly repeated and form the central design element of the carpet. The lighter inner renderings of the Gül motifs stand out clearly from the darker background and provide contrast as well as rhythmic depth.

Between the main medallions run finely worked, geometric connection patterns that visually structure the field and emphasise the linear character of the runner. The surrounding border consists of several narrow bands with densely knotted geometric ornaments. It frames the central motif clearly and reinforces the traditional, closed overall impression.

The color palette of red, cream, brown, and dark accent tones is typical of Bukhara carpets from Pakistan and looks calm, balanced, and timeless.
