Roman glass bottle with rolled glass thread
A bottle with a spherical body, surmounted by a tall straight neck and a small flared lip.
The body is adorned with a fine thread of glass applied in a spiral across the entire body.
Beautiful Irisations, very well preserved.
Glass was prized in Roman times, used primarily for perfumes and for adornment.
The bottle is covered by an iridescent layer with multicolored reflections, formed as a result of the oxidation of the glass.
Mediterranean basin, Roman Era, 1st / 2nd century.
Height 7.8 cm - diameter 4.1 cm - good condition - slight wear to the decoration in one area.
Provenance: Germany, D.W.O.
