The Synchromat was designed to enable owners of an M8 or M8S projector to add sound to their amateur films, ensuring precise synchronization between the projected image and the sound recorded on a horizontally moving magnetic tape recorder.
Type of device: It is a tape synchroniser (tape synchroniser), not a standalone projector with integrated audio.
Compatibility: It works specifically with Paillard Bolex M8 projectors and the subsequent M8S version. The M8S model has been improved to be fully compatible with this unit.
