Important baluster ceramic vase with hand-painted decoration and gold inlay in the third firing, French manufacture from the second half of the 20th century, 33.5 cm high and 14 cm maximum diameter.
Description from the seller
Important baluster vase in glazed ceramic and 24-karat gold – French manufacture, 20th century.
An important baluster vase of great elegance and strong stage presence, made of glazed ceramic and enriched with hand-painted decorations with 24-karat gold applications fired in a third firing. The work stands out for the harmony of proportions, the richness of color, and the extraordinary precision of execution, expression of decorative craftsmanship of the utmost quality.
The ovoid body, covered by an intense warm yellow background, is enriched by a decorative pattern that is strongly symmetrical and symbolic in character, inspired by the formal language of Etruscan art, reinterpreted according to the cultivated taste of the twentieth century. The stylized motifs, rendered in black and dark red tones, dialogue with the luminous gilding to create a refined and solemn effect, of clear classical and Neo-Imperial ancestry.
The vase comes from an old Parisian residence, a context perfectly aligned with the executive level and with the intended use of the object, designed for representative spaces and high-profile bourgeois interiors. Unsigned production, a common circumstance in fine French decorative ceramics from the second half of the 20th century.
An object with a striking aesthetic impact, ideal as a focal element on a console, sideboard, or other important furnishings, capable of enhancing both classical interiors and eclectic settings.
