Important antique carved wood frame gilded with gold leaf – Empire style, 19th century.
Material: solid wood (probably poplar or fir, typical of Italian workshops) with plaster finish.
Finish: Precious gilding with genuine gold leaf. The gilding shows a beautiful natural patina, with the red "bolo" underneath that subtly emerges in some areas.
Structure: Robust construction with the classic square joints visible on the back and period reinforcements. The profile is an inverted groove.
The item is in good original condition, with minor losses to the gilding and slight natural cracks in the wood (crackle lines) that do not affect its structural integrity.
Presence of old woodworm holes (treated and no longer active).
