Bang & Olufsen Beogram 8002 Turntable
The Finest Turntable Ever Produced by Bang & Olufsen – Absolute White Raven – Fully Serviced
The Bang & Olufsen Beogram 8002 is widely regarded as the best turntable ever produced by Bang & Olufsen and the ultimate achievement of the brand’s analogue engineering. The final and most advanced model of the Beogram series, it has become an absolute “white raven”, highly sought after by collectors around the world.
The turntable presents extremely well overall; however, a very light additional cosmetic polish could further enhance its appearance, as a few tiny hairline marks remain visible only under direct light, along with one small scratch on the corner of the lid.
Unlike conventional belt-driven turntables, the Beogram 8002 features a beltless, direct tangential drive system, eliminating belts entirely and ensuring exceptional precision, stability, and long-term reliability.

Engineering & Design Excellence:
The Beogram 8002 was a true state-of-the-art product at the time of its release. The platter is driven by a unique tangential direct-drive system with no physical contact and no conventional motor components.
The tangential tracking tonearm, made from hard-drawn brass, follows the same straight-line geometry used when cutting the original master disc. This results in:
- No skating force
- Virtually zero tracking error
- Extremely accurate and natural sound reproduction
A detector arm with a photodiode “magic eye” continuously monitors the platter surface. If PLAY is pressed without a record present, the system automatically prevents the stylus from lowering, protecting both cartridge and turntable.
