Description from the seller
White porcelain tea service. Brand: “Richard Ginori Italy” with a green crown. The “Richard Ginori” mark refers to the historic Italian porcelain manufactory founded in 1735. The manufactory is renowned for its fine porcelain, such as the iconic collection of this service: “Vecchio Ginori.” The code “N-84” might indicate a model number, production number, or a specific pattern. The company has a complex history, including failures and acquisitions by luxury brands such as Gucci. In this simple and elegant service, now iconic, the porcelain has been left white, undecorated, to enhance its plastic form with a basket-weave edge featuring four series of sinuous raised fluting that run down toward the base. Pattern called “alla Sassone” as it reworks the design already in use in the 18th century at Meissen in Saxony and later taken up by the Doccia manufactory in the second half of the eighteenth century.
Status: Active. Current: 1980. Included in the set:
12 cups, height 5 cm and diameter 9.8 cm
12 saucers with a diameter of 14.8 cm.
