Description from the seller
An authentic Italian cinema chair from the 1960s, produced by Meneghello, a historic Venetian manufacturer active in Thiene (Vicenza), specialized in seating for cinema halls, theaters, and public spaces.
A piece with a strong industrial character, a testament to Italian functional design in the postwar era, today particularly appreciated by collectors and interior designers.
The armchair features a solid frame in black-painted metal, paired with a seat and backrest in curved wood with a beautiful visible grain. The wooden armrests add comfort and formal balance, completing a design that is essential and timeless. The original folding mechanism underlines its functional vocation and the heavy use for which it was designed.
It’s not just a piece of furniture, but a piece of Italian design history, capable of giving character to contemporary interiors, lofts, professional studios, waiting rooms, or high-end commercial spaces.
Conditions
The armchair is structurally solid and in perfect working order.
Shows light superficial signs and small scratches consistent with age and original use in a cinematic context, visible in photographs and part of the piece's authentic patina.
