Sea Snail Sea shell - M-948 CHARONIA VARIEGATA

Beautiful, large shell of Charonia variegata, Atlantic triton, or Atlantic trumpet, is a species of predatory sea snail, a mollusk from the family Charoniidae, of the triton shells, triton shells, or tritons. This conical shell has an elongated and sharply pointed spire without any protrusions. The lower whorls are unevenly swollen with varices and bulges above the suture. The suture then descends along the uneven spiral. The umbilicus is lined with a narrow, dark inner lip, covered with regularly spaced, brown, ribbed folds. The outer lip is toothed but less protruding, with about 10 pairs of ribbed teeth overlaid on square, dark brown patches. The shell's color is mottled in shades ranging from cream-white to yellow with brown markings. The interior of the large aperture is orange-pink, and the interior is white. Dimensions - 115/150/285mm. Highly recommended for collectors and interior decorators.
