Description from the seller
Olivetti electric writing multiplier – Multisumma 20 – Year 1964
La Olivetti Multisumma 20, available from 1964, is a compact electromechanical calculator with a dedicated multiplication key, instead of relying on successive additions as in the earlier models.
It is unveiled with Olivetti's new calculator design: squared lines that recall the crystal-cut facets and a professional appearance.
This machine, which also automatically performs multiplications, is the most complete model in the 20 series.
In 1968 it was introduced under the brand 'Multisumma 20 R'.
The machine is complete with the original cable, a roll of paper, and a plastic cover; the original two-tone tape is also present. The motor runs normally, the tape advances but the keys are blocked; I think it needs cleaning and lubrication of the internal mechanisms.
Features
It was the latest calculator to emerge from the collaboration between the famous architect Marcello Nizzoli, the design curator, and engineer Natale Capellaro, the designer of the mechanical part.
