Five Insect Amber Fossil Specimens from Myanmar
Myanmar amber, also known as Burmite, is fossilized resin primarily sourced from the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar. It is renowned for its exceptional ability to preserve ancient life forms, including insects, plants, and other organisms commonly trapped within it. This amber is estimated to be around 99 million years old, dating back to the Cretaceous period (before the appearance of Tyrannosaurus!). It exhibits a rich golden-yellow color with reddish-brown undertones and high transparency, making it highly valued by collectors and scientists alike, offering us a rare window into prehistoric ecosystems.
Each piece of amber is stored in a PE box to ensure safety and ease of handling.
