Sebastião Ribeiro Salgado (Aimorés, February 8, 1944 – Paris, May 23, 2025) was a Brazilian photographer who lived in Paris from 1973. Although he had graduated in economics, he became best known for his documentary photography, for which he spent years traveling the world. His photographs show the effect it has on people when their lives are determined by poverty, famine, industrialization, and political oppression. He published several photobooks on this social issue and also received numerous awards for them. [He traveled for his work to more than a hundred countries.]
The present book is in nearly new condition, measures 26.3 x 36.5 cm, has 527 pages, and weighs 4278 grams.
