Description from the seller
Madonna SEX sealed, unopened — see photos
is a 1992 book by the artist Madonna with erotic photographs by Steven Meisel. It contains depictions of softcore pornography as well as sadomasochistic practices. For the design, the designer Glenn O’Brien was responsible. The texts were written by Madonna.
The book's publication on October 21, 1992 coincided with Madonna's fifth studio album Erotica and caused a scandal due to its sexually explicit photos. Nevertheless, the book sold worldwide more than 1.5 million copies and was at that time considered the most successful coffee-table book of all time.
The oversized book has a spiral-bound metal cover made of brushed aluminum. On the front the title “SEX” is embossed, on the back there is a bracketed “X” punched out. Included is a CD with an unreleased version of Erotica, named Erotic. Affixed to the book is an eight-page comic-style story: Dita in The Chelsea Girl.
The book was packaged in a silver foil, on which a stylized, light-blue image of Madonna is depicted. In Germany the book was published by Heyne Verlag. Each copy of the book contains an embossed limited number on the back cover. The book was sold out worldwide shortly after its release in September 1992.
In very good condition.
